Known Incompatibilities and Issues

Winzip and Zipmagic are two zip utilities that have been shown to adversely effect the operation of CIMS. This is due to the manner in which they change the handling of zip files by the system, causing them to appear as folders. This interferes with the archival process which is used to prepare data to be transfered between locations. This does not effect "stand-alone" installations of CIMS where the archiving process is not used.

Limitation on Miscellaneous Data "Sites on the Network"

It has been documented that listing of a large number of locations in this field can cause an error during the archival process used to create the transfer file in the Hub location. The current limitation appears to be about 12 locations. Exceeding this may cause a General Protection Fault error as the buffer is overwritten. This field should be limited as a rule to listing only those locations which share this installation of CIMS.

Internal Error 248

This error is usually seen in the FIle Conversion Utility when importing extremely large files. This can be resolved by running a utility to adjust the configuration of the Paradox Engine. Please contact Great Lakes Software support personnel for help doing so.
